English Summary/英文概要： Despite the contrasting backgrounds of the Taggart and Farrelly families, Wilson and Mike are thrown together by chance with Lucy Neadeau during the summer of 1928. Despite the two Irish families having crossed the Atlantic, class issues and religious prejudice – in both directions - have not been left behind. And in a Canada seeking to establish its identity, Lucy tries to come to terms with the Ojibwe being second class citizens in their own land, but also chaffs against the restrictions of her tribe.

Awards/获奖情况： 布莱恩•加拉格尔是个全职作家，他的戏剧和短篇小说作品在爱尔兰、英国和加拿大发行。他在广播和电视栏目中都有所建树，写作过很多戏剧和纪实作品。还与作曲人肖恩•珀塞尔一起合作过很多音乐剧作品，他负责写剧本和歌词。
他的第一本青少年历史小说作品是《跨过分歧》，故事背景设置于1913年的都柏林暴力事件，之后又出版了《选个立场吧》，故事背景是内战，之后的作品是《秘密和阴影》，描绘的是二战中激动人心的间谍小说。布莱恩现和家人居住于都柏林。
